Beneath the dirt, my mother should lie And I can't help but wonder why The ones she loved the most Are now fighting over her ghost Her will, her inheritance, her wealth Has torn our family apart by stealth The love we shared has turned to hate And now it feels too late The memories we made, now just a blur As we argue over what's rightfully hers I can't help but feel so sad That our family has gone so bad And as I sit here, all alone I can't help but feel so thrown By the loss of my mother's love And the fighting that ensued above So, goodbye mother, I'll love you still Even though our family's lost its will To be together, to love and to share It's a shame that we couldn't be there
